Learning to post consistently on social media can be an incredibly frustrating and difficult task for many business owners. In fact, many businesses don’t even post periodically on their platforms, making it near impossible for them to reach new audiences who’d be interested in their products and services.
The truth is you actually do more harm than good to your business by not having a consistent online presence. It would be the equivalent of calling a business on the phone and no one picking up to answer, of walking up to a doorstep only to find the door is locked during business hours.
Too many business owners put social media content on the backburner because they just don’t have the bandwidth to find the right kind of content to post, let alone create the content from scratch.
But it really doesn’t have to be hard to create content and post consistently on social media.
If social media is overwhelming for you, there are a few small things you can do it ease the pain and still have a consistent presence.
How to Post Consistently on Social Media
Pick ONE platform to post consistently on.
There are so many social media platforms out there that it can be near impossible to post on all of them. The best thing you can do is determine which platform your audience is likely on and make that your priority platform. If all you can do is post on this ONE platform, then you will be further ahead than posting sporadically on all of them.
- Post 2-3 times a week
If all you can manage is posting 2 or 3 times a week instead of daily, then post consistently 2 to 3 times a week. Consistent action is always better than inconsistent action.
- Time block for your social media content
If you can block even 10 minutes a day to create and post consistently on social media, you can set up the habits to continue this well into your future. This will allow you to focus on just that day’s content so you aren’t overwhelmed having to think too far in advance.
- Use a free scheduler to help post content
There are many free schedulers like Later, Planoly, Facebook native, or Creator Studio to help plan out your content. These can allow you to batch create content and have it scheduled out in advance so you don’t have to worry about posting daily. Time block once a week or once a month to create content instead of daily.
- Create a theme daily to post about
To make it easy for you to post consistently on social media, create a theme for each day of the week, like Mindset Monday, Tip Tuesday, Wellness Wednesday… then create content for those themes. Be sure to weave in your products and services occasionally!
